HEALTH SAFETY INFORMATION and PRECAUTIONS

As churches begin to prepare for adult and youth work teams to do Katrina Relief work this summer, the National Health Ministries of the PCUSA website has added a basic health safety information and precautions area to their web-based Katrina Relief website.  Visit http://www.pcusa.org/health/usa/healthinfo/katrinaworkers.htm .  Subjects include:  immunizations, insect bites, injury prevention, heat, fungi/mold, and several other areas of concern.   Also included at this site are model health information forms - designed for both adults and youth that should be completed and should accompany the group.  This form collects information that would be needed in the case of a medical emergency.

Click on the YouTube link above to watch Sunni Patterson during her time in St. Louis.

Sunni, who began her career as a high school English teacher, is a voter's favorite of HBO's Def Poetry Jam and brought to St. Louis her vision of peace and life in New Orleans post-Katrina during a Peacemaking Conference sponsored by the action team of the Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy.
