First Presbyterian Church at 4th & Alby Sts., Alton, IL is presenting a FREE WORKSHOP, Faith & Family at Home, for families on Saturday, October 29th at 9:30 a.m. This workshop is being presented by J. Bradley Wigger. Dr. Wigger was formerly a social worker working with families in the school of special education, and taught classes at Princeton Theological Seminary and Marion College of Fond Du Lac. In 1997, Dr. Wigger joined the faculty at Louisville Seminary, where he also directs the Center for Congregations and Family Ministries. He has authored several books: The Power of God at Home: The Texture of Mystery (Bucknell University Press, 1998); Nurturing Our Children in Love and Grace (Jossey-Bass, 2003); and Together We Pray (Chalice Press, 2005). A Wine & Hors d' oeuvres Reception/Book Signing is planned for Friday, October 28th, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the church, in addition to the Saturday workshop. (Books will be available for purchase.)
